Porsche 917 er den racerbil, der gav Porsche sin første overordnede vinder på 24 timers Le Mans i 1970 og 1971. Drevet af den type 912 flat-12 motor på 4,5, 4,9 eller 5 liter, 917/30 variant var i stand til en 100 km/t tid på 2,3 sekunder, 200 km/t på 5,3 sekunder, og en tophastighed på over 390 km/t.

Der er 6 varianter af 917. Den mest succesfulde version er 917K, der producerer omkring 620 hk. Der er også en lang hale version (917LH), en "pig" version, en modificeret 917K med 908 bagspoilere og 917/30. I 1973 Can-Am serien, udviklet den turboladede version Porsche 917/30 over 1.100 hk (820 kW), og så meget som 1.580 hk (1.180 kW) i kvalifikationen tune.

Den 917 er en af sin tids mest ikoniske racerbiler, bl.a. for sine høje hastigheder og høje motoreffekter og den blev gjort til en filmstjerne af Steve McQueen i sin 1971 film Le Mans.

2009 markerede 40-årsdagen for 917, og Porsche havde en speciel fødselsdag på Goodwood Festival of Speed (3-5 juli).

Porsche 997

997 is the internal designation for the Porsche 911 model manufactured and sold by German manufacturer Porsche between 2004 (as Model Year 2005) and 2012. Porsche 944
